Despite knowing we should reapply sunscreen every 2 hours if we sweat or swim, most of us don’t for a very good reason. It’s not that easy to do it if you wear make up and not to turn your face into a hot mess. Lathering greasy sunscreen over foundation completely ruins your flawless finish and if you do it over a powder it’s even worse.

So when powder sunscreen hit the market a few years back, I jumped at the chance to use it and immediately became a convert. It’s easy to apply, goes on completely unnoticeable and best of all, it’s absolutely weightless. All of them are mineral (physical) sunscreen which means they could be used by those with even extremely sensitive skin.

#1. Colorescience Sunforgettable Loose Mineral Sunscreen Brush Broad Spectrum SPF 50

That is my Holy Grail in sunscreen powders that come in a stick container with a self-dispensing brush . Why? It has SPF 50, it has 4 shades from fair to deep, the softest brush of all of the powder sunscreens I tried, it’s weightless and does not accentuates fine lines or flakes. Really, there is no flaw to this mineral powder sunscreen.

#2. Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 45

Another great talc-free SPF 45 mineral powder in a convenient brush applicator. It is transparent matte powder that works immediately to block out the sun’s harmful UVA/UVB infrared rays and it is also a mineral sunscreen which is ideal if you have sensitive or allergic reaction prone skin.

#3. Jane Iredale Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen

Great finely milled powder with SPF 30 that looks beautifully and feels nice. It comes in a jar with a puff applicator which I find so easy to use that I find myself always reaching for it.

#4. Mineral Fusion Brush-On Sun Defense, SPF 30

This is a nice transparent powder with SPF 30. Simply brush Mineral Fusion onto your skin and get instant protection from the sun.

Here we have a Korean sunscreen powder which provides SPF46 PA+++ protection. It has rather white shade so it’s best suitable for those who have light to medium skin tone.

#7. Ohui Perfect Sun Powder SPF50++/PA+++

Another powder that is popular in Korea. This semi-matte powder has SPF 50 / PA+++ Super easy to use as a setting powder or great to carry with to re-apply conveniently. Bonus: The bottom has a twist out mirror!
